there is a place that i go ...
that is a total secret and i cant say where or anything like that ... all i can say is that it feeds my appetite and passion for the past, especially the clothes, the styles, the movements, the cultures ... heres some pics that i took today that hark back to the past and the beginning of one of the greatest subcultural movements ever ... enjoy x

great institutions of working class britain
in reference to the above title it is safe to say that there are many but for me and my wife none more so than the CAR BOOT SALE , we love these kinda things, battered cars and sometimes battered people ... it seems that you can go and invest in items never seemingly any older than being manufactured in and before 1987 ... its a plethora of sights, sounds, and smells ... if any of you lived in a town like i did when growing up where the gypsies came along with their travelling fair but once a year and the odour of candyfloss and hot dogs wafted across the locale inducing both excitement and nausea at the same time ... anyway aside from my attempted poetics , a car boot sale in its glory is much like a travelling fair (just lacking in rides that make you puke) anyway i went to one outside of portsmouth and to my joy, it was a HOT day and the sights, sounds and smells didnt disappoint ...

NICK CAVE
Thanks to my amazing Girlfriend Ines, last night I got to see Nick Cave play at the Tempodrom in Berlin. This show was probably one of the best live shows I have ever seen. He must be the coolest person on earth or at least that is what it felt and looked like last night. I was in awe at his aggressive confident ability on stage. His presence was that of a god.
Here are a few photos to wet your appetite.
I wish you a nice and relaxing weekend. I am off to the countryside for some BBQ in the garden and hopefully alot of sunshine.

IT ALL STARTED WITH A BANG
So yesterday evening while we were patiently waiting to go see Ian Brown play at the Columbia Club, I here a few big bangs and pops. Went to look what it was and saw a huge smoke cloud outside our house. The Voyeur in me said lets go see what it was. not satisfied with that view I decided to join the other 100 people on the bridge to see what was really going on. By my further inspection I found out that this was in fact a recycling plant and those big things burning were huge bundles of paper!!! Needless to say that within minutes all of them caught fire and it started raining ash and paper.
So while Berlin was burning or Kreuzberg at that. We headed off to see Ian Brown. I had never been to the Columbia Club, however I heard that it was a small venue. By small I mean that it fits 500 or 600 people. When we got there we were amongst about 300 people. To see Ian Brown in such a small venue with only 300 others is a very special experience to say the least, it actually made felt like a party and Mr. Brown was there to play for us. Needless to say it was amazing, he played new stuff, old stuff and even Stone Roses stuff!!! For all you who could not make it here are few picts. I would like to apologize for the images as I did not have my camera and I could not figure out how to work the one I was using. I wish you all a good day.

CAESAR SALAD
I was doing a search online trying to find a good Caesar Salad dressing recipe and I came across the history of the Caesar Salad. It was in fact invented by a Italian man named Caesar, however it was invented in Tijuana Mexico!!!!! Fucking Mexico none the less Tijuana was what i expected. I grew up in Los Angeles and my memories of Tijuana include going there as a teenager to skate a great skatepark and also get drunk on cheap beer and tequila. My first memory is that when you are crossing the boarder from San Diego to Mexico into TJ the smell is one of the worst in the world. TJ is also home to loads of whore houses and US Marines on leave looking to get into fights!!!! Not a pretty sight.
Never in my wildest dreams would have thought that this salad could be invented in TJ!!!
"This popular dish was originally created in 1924 by Italian chef Caesar Cardini at his restaurant in Tijuana, Mexico and was prepared and served right at the table."
Check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caesar_salad for more information on the Caesar!!!

Berlin Weekend
Today is another beautiful sunny day in Berlin. I must say that I am very happy that Summer is almost here and the weather is a bit sunnier these days.
My very close friend Mike is in town from Orange County visiting me. I have known him longer then any single friend, which pretty much makes him family. He has been here since April 30th and will stay the whole month of May. He is on a journey riding his bike around Germany. As I write this he is in route to Hamburg.
So May 1st in Germany is quite a big day with protests and rioting galore, however Berlin was pretty calm in most respects. I live in Kruezberg which use to be consider a war zone on May 1st, however they have decided to make it a family afair and street party to keep the rioters at bay. Check out the photos from last week below.
The rest of the weekend was filled with Bike riding and a lot beer drinking in the sun!!!!!!

who we are ... what we do ... manifesto!
sanecommunications is a new boutique, integrated, full service agency specializing in fashion from the street to the specialist to the avant-garde.
The sane company ethos is all in the name, to talk to key areas of the industry on behalf of our clients in a 'sane' manner, championing the philosophy that talking about the 'right product, to the right people, in the right tone of voice' is the way to gain success for our brands.
sanecommunications are proud to be a bespoke agency, providing tailored, intelligent solutions, as direct extensions of our clients and their brands, thus understanding and fulfilling their needs.
sane specialize in Collection Sales, Creative Marketing, PR and Brand Management all on a bespoke level, we don't scream, shout or lose our heads, we focus, act, then deliver - sanely.
Our offering enables us to work very closely with our clients, and their brands thus developing a 'family' style environment, trust is tantamount to success.
Sanecommunications is Stephen Monaghan and Eric Conyers, two gentlemen, friends, and affable chaps who met over an 8-ball table in Los Angeles almost 5 years ago and have never looked back. Not long after that day (no idea who won the game in case you were wondering) we started talking of starting up the business that incorporated our philosophies with regards to the fashion industry in all its vastness (and vacuousness!) that we had collectively spent nearly 20 frustrated years in. Ranging from roles in sales to press to marketing to advertising to brand management to designing and journalism ... phew some C.V there!!
It would be fair to say that the integral ethos from the start in our business plan was 'attention to detail', we believed that this was the element lacking in the corporate world of mass and ubiquitous brand communications strategies hence this frustration in 'what was missing' led to our believing that we could slowly but surely 'fill the void', working in close tandem with clients and their brands fulfilling wishes on a boutique and individual requirement based level, talking with quiet confidence will always beat screaming with obvious insecurity.
Our pride in our beliefs and our clients product will not lead to a fall, as we have both the humility and common sense to stop, think, and continue consciously and confidently. We represent our brands as they wish to be represented, we have as much care for our clients brands as they have, we will get them to where the deserve to be. As a wise old man or maybe it was a woman once said "slowly slowly, catchy monkey" we are in to that proverb so we will stick by its connotation ...
It’s good to be in-sane ...
